And then, when the parents’ divorce, it may psychologically affect the children, by causing stress for the child and that stress leads to other psychological diseases like depression, substance abuse, and other anxiety-related issues. There is one main misconception, about divorce that it is considered always to be a negative thing. But, it is important to understand that divorces are even beneficial to both parents and children in many ways. Some divorces are mutually initiated which is good but, sometimes, the divorce is not mutually initiated as one of the parents bring violence, drugs and even alcohol abuse in the child’s environment. As said before, divorces may cause stress that can lead to psychological problems for children but, in some cases, it is the opposite, when any child watches, his or her parents fighting and going through this trauma in child’s environment, they have much more chances to prevent the psychological issues. To prevent the psychological effects, that too when children are influenced by their parents, the parents also continue and try to maintain their image as the child’s role model.
